I have actually been having reservations about posting this video, because it’s the first time (as far as I can remember) that we’ve published a video of some actual mischief by Lucy. (Not that she doesn’t commit mischief plenty often, or even that we have it on video, just that we haven’t published it till now.) You can hear her saying, “No-no,” to herself in this clip, which she does often when doing something her conscience tells her isn’t right — so I hope that publishing this won’t have either of two possible bad effects: (1) That she would feel ashamed of having something naughty she did published; or (2) that she would think it proved it was funny or dramatic or otherwise glorious to be bad and have it shared with the world. Her heart is so sweet and her conscience is pretty tuned in, I hate to put it at any kind of risk.
Sigh. It’s so complicated, isn’t it? In the meantime, we’ll probably avoid watching this clip with Lucy, just in case it confuses her in any way.

Well, even if she doesn’t get to watch it, I’m glad we do!

Atta girl! Keep your parents sharp and attentive. Where were they when you did the dirty deed? Just remember that moment and you’ll obviously be able to slip below the radar screen to have some more fun. Looks to me like you learned this little trick from your Grandmother. Keep me informed about other plans you are making. In the meantime, I send you my love…
