Lucy, Jon, and I are all glad to be settled into our cozy home again. Jon just took Lucy for a tour of the house. It was fun to be able to show her all the places she has been for the past nine months, even though she couldn’t see them until now.
I can’t believe that this baby was in my belly! She is so delicate and tender, but also so big and fully-formed. This whole experience feels very unreal. I am glad that Lucy keeps us in the moment with constant tending to her eating, elimating, and sleeping patterns — otherwise, Jon and I would be lost in dreamland. As it is, we spend a good part of our days just gazing at her and admiring her. We both keep crying for joy, thanking God for her miraculous presence in our lives.
Here’s another of our favorite pictures of her, taken during her first bath shortly after her birth. I think it illustrates well my point about her being both tender and fully-formed!
I love reliving the birth and first moments of Maddy through your joy and excitment. Charish (sp?) every moment, they fly by and before you know it she will be big. Maddy is already teething and I though she was born just yesterday!! Was the labor what you wanted it to be? How are you feeling physically?
We will keep you in our prayers.
