Bunny-cide

I love our Chicago bungalow, and I love its hardwood floors. But I hate the dust bunnies. After four weeks of undisturbed reproduction opportunities, they have moved in and started to take out home equity loans. But today we put a stop to it.

Die, bunnies, die!

I have heard that babies like vacuum cleaners. I have a baby, I have a vacuum cleaner, and I have a mission: to de-bunnify our floors. With my trusty sidekick riding in her BabyBjörn, we set out to tackle the linty masses. Lucy was lulled into slumber by the alluring hum of the bunny-sucker, and we got the job done.

Are the floors perfect? No. Will they be back? In droves I’m sure, after a week or two. But I’m so glad I no longer have to avert my eyes from the puffy creatures under our couch while I’m nursing.

  1. Isn’t it great! I always vacuumed with Benjamin in our Snugli (very similar to the BabyBjorn). I also got one of those Swiffer duster wand things and I would dust with him in it too (since the wand is long, I could dust everything with minimal bending). Now I can’t because my pregnant belly sticks out too far so instead, I let him crawl around (he likes to chase the vacuum cleaner).

  2. Thanks for all the compliments! I do feel good. I still have quite a few pounds to drop until I get close to pre-pregnancy weight, but I’m not rushing it. And I’m definitely enjoying sleeping on my back!
