Oh my, what a delight this little girl is! About 33 hours into the Lucy Era, Ann and I can report “all systems go.” Here are just a very few of the highlights (including a photo):
* We all have had some good sleep in the last day
* She’s been making big steps in learning to nurse — and so has Mama
* All four grandparents have been to visit — along with several friends
* We’ve learned the medical name of the facial splotches Ann got from pushing: “petechiae”:http://atoz.iqhealth.com/HealthAnswers/encyclopedia/HTMLfiles/972.html
* Evanston Hospital served us up a special “celebration dinner” for two today, with the works from purple table linens to turtle cheesecake
* Papa realizes with surprise that it was only 22 hours ago he was nervous about how to change a diaper
* We’re scheduled to head home tomorrow
* As previously mentioned, Lucy has a fantastic, full head of hair, and here’s proof:
Thank you all so much for your warm wishes, both in comments here and in signing her “guest book”:http://lucyboyd.com/guestbook/! You’ve warmed our hearts and brought tears to our eyes.
Note to Ann’s fans: Don’t worry! She’ll be back to posting here at BNN very soon, perhaps even tomorrow. And of course, we’ll have lots more photos once we’ve got regular web access.
So, see? THAT’S what she was doing in there this week….growing all that hair!
