Spit-up happens

One of the things I periodically prayed for during my pregnancy was for a baby who — besides being healthy and possessing four limbs in the right places — wouldn’t spit up much. For the first few weeks, I thought we successed in birthing a non-barfer. But in the past couple of days, Lucy’s gastric valves seem to be going in reverse more often than is strictly necessary. Diaper milestone #1

I’m pleased to report a minor diaper milestone: As of this morning, Lucy has graduated from size “N” to size “1” diapers (when she wears disposables, at least). That’s all. You can go about your business now.

Shedding the extras

Over the six (nearly seven!) weeks since Lucy was born, I’ve been thinking hard about the 51 pounds that came along with the baby-growing package. I lost about 23 of them within the first two weeks, but I figured I’d probably need to be a bit more intentional about the rest of them.
