Mama’s first outing

Everybody’s got to get out sometime. I’d been thinking about taking a little mommy break for several weeks now, and Jon has been encouraging me to do so. While I’ve gotten a few solo walks to the local coffee shop, I haven’t had the nerve to actually separate my breasts from this child for more than about an hour. Worry-wart

I have a tendency to be a worrier. I worry about problems a lot of the time, and it can be hard for me to have perspective. (I think it might be hereditary.) Spit-up happens

One of the things I periodically prayed for during my pregnancy was for a baby who — besides being healthy and possessing four limbs in the right places — wouldn’t spit up much. For the first few weeks, I thought we successed in birthing a non-barfer. But in the past couple of days, Lucy’s gastric valves seem to be going in reverse more often than is strictly necessary. Shedding the extras

Over the six (nearly seven!) weeks since Lucy was born, I’ve been thinking hard about the 51 pounds that came along with the baby-growing package. I lost about 23 of them within the first two weeks, but I figured I’d probably need to be a bit more intentional about the rest of them.
