Papa left this morning for four days of meetings near Freeport, Illinois. Once Lucy and I get over being grumpy about it, we might have some fun.
It takes some work for me to get over my pity-party when Jon is away. Especially such a long trip! But Lucy has already been encouraging me to take this as an opportunity for girl-powered festivities. Here are some of our ideas of things we might do:
* visit other friends with babies
* go shopping for tiny clothes and teething rings
* have a pedicure party
* watch both versions of _Pride and Prejudice_
* bake cookies
* read magazines
* take naps
* wear feather boas and furry slippers
* listen to Madonna
* eat bonbons
I’m lucky to have such a smart-thinking sidekick in the house these days. What will she come up with next, bowling?
Ann, Brian is gone this weekend to “mens camp” with 4 teens. I too am at home with a super smart girl. Although we tend to spend our time practicing walking and jumping on the bed!
Sounds like fun – wish I could join you! ;)
When Abi was about 3 months old, Darel left for 4 days to go to a funeral abroad. I wish I had shown Abi pictures of him while he was away, because when he returned, she seemed surprised that another person lived with us!
The only thing I don’t get about this post is the title: as if the girls don’t _always_ run the house! :)
