Yesterday, I got a really exciting phone call. Jane and Andy, our very good friends, have been in the adoption process for a few months. Yesterday morning, Jane got a call from their adoption agency asking if they would be willing to pick up a 2-day-old baby boy *the next day*. Quite a way to start the day!
Jon and I are ecstatic that they have decided to adopt this baby boy. I keep crying every time I think of it. We are so glad that we’ll get to have babies grow up together. Another good friend of theirs has 11-month-old twins and is helping them get organized with necessary baby equipment, baby training, and baby skills. Jane put it mildly when she said, “The learning curve will be a bit steep.” I don’t think she or I could have imagined that we would be raising newborns at the same time!
They just picked him up today, and he is adorable! Wednesday is a good day to get a baby, don’t you think?
Sure was a good day to get a baby! But well, it’s almost midnight, and Ann hasn’t even started to labor yet — so I think the Boyds will have to wait till Thursday at least to meet ours.
Wow! That’s awesome about your friend. Would love to hear more sometime. I’ll be praying for a safe and healthy baby Boyd and delivery. Please keep me posted!
