The factual version
This year held many milestones on the home front as on the national stage. We kept quarantine until, after 466 days, all four of us were fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Lucy (age 15) and Rosie (age 13) attended in-person public school for the first time. They also enjoyed an intensive course in self-defense. Lucy cut her hair short, and Rosie cat-sat for some neighbors for a whole month.
Last Thanksgiving Ann started logging how many pounds of butter she uses when baking. The annual total? Ninety-two! In July Jon built a Lego model of a manual typewriter, then fell in love with the real thing; he has acquired five of them, which he regularly uses. At work, Ann got a great start on podcasting, and Jon was named associate publisher for IVP Academic. Finally, we got a new license plate that reads “CAR.”
We hope you have a merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Lunar New Year, and everything else that brings celebration. Please accept our best wishes for a joyful and prosperous 2022!
