We’ve got a new camera, and although we’re thankful for the old one that has carried us through Lucy’s whole life and virtually “every”:/news/image-archive/ “photo”:/news/category/baby/the-daily-lucy/ and “video”:/news/category/baby/video/ ever to appear here at Boyds’ Nest News, we’re delighted with the power of the new Canon EOS T2i. Rosie (here on March 6, 2010) is pleased about something, too.
Great pic of Rosie! She looks so much like Lucy here!
Ah, the Canon EOS T2i looks really nice. What lenses did you get? (An appropriate question for a Lenz.)
I’m still using the first generation Digital Rebel from 2003 and it’s going strong. Only thing I’d change is that it would be nice to have a 28mm prime with 1.4 to 2.0 F-stop.
So far, just the kit lens, an 18-55mm/3.5-5.6. But I’ve got a 50mm/1.8 prime on its way.
I used the 50mm growing up on a film camera, but with these digital cameras, a 50mm is the equivalent of an 80mm (50×1.6). Unfortunately, the camera makers seem to have stuck with the 50mm as their choice for a good, cheap prime. The 35mm and 28mm lenses are so much more expensive.
I’ll be interested to know how the 50mm works for you.
Right. I’m a little worried about too much magnification with the 50mm. (For family closeups, zoomed all the way out to 18mm with my kit lens has been right most of the time, as in the shot on this post, and the one I just posted for Rosie’s birthday.) But we’ll see; and I will keep you posted.
I suppose you can always “zoom with your feet” As long as your rooms are big enough. :)
