Exactly how big *are* those Boyd girls, anyway? I know you’ve all been curious about the numbers, so here they are.
h3. Lucy at her 3-year appointment (May 19)
_Height_ 38 1/8″ (67%)
_Weight_ 30 lbs 6 oz (48%)
_Blood Pressure_ 88/50
Lucy has gained about five pounds this year, rising from 33th to 48th percentile in weight. She grew about 3½ inches, dropping from 73th to 67th percentile. Her blood pressure looked alarmingly low to me, but the nurse assured me that this is normal for healthy preschoolers. And Lucy is pretty awesome at attempting to say “sphygmomanometer”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphygmomanometer. She is doing great!
h3. Rosie at her 15-month appointment (June 23)
_Weight:_ 27 lbs 4 oz (94%)
_Height:_ 33.5″ (99%)
_Head Circumference:_ 47.8 cm (92%)
Rosie is slowing her weight gain slightly, adding just a half-pound since her 12-month appointment and dropping from 99th to 94th percentile. (My back thanks her!) She grew 1½ inches in those three months (staying strong at the 99th percentile), and rounded out her head circumference with another 0.8 cm. Rosie astounded us with her patience during a long wait at the doctor’s office and devoured most of a peanut-butter-and-honey sandwich while tearing around the waiting room and climbing on chairs. Then she went home and had a good nap!
It still amazes me the cycles kids go through when eating. I still remember being in awe at how much Mo was eating as a young toddler vs a preschool Kaia. Well now that has switched and Kaia is inhaling food at an alarming rate and Mo barely eats.
Lucy is definitely a trim girl! Mo is just a bit heavier than she is, and I’m not sure on his height.
I love the photo of them bent over playing. They are beautiful!
we just went for the 18 mo check up last week. Lydia my peanut (compared to Madelyn) is in the 25th %-tile
20 lbs
30″ tall
46cm head
and my jabber mouth is speaking some 80 words… learning fast from big sister!
Weird to have a little one when your first was always pushing the 100th percentile. It i fun how different they are.
