To keep myself from going stir-crazy while we wait for labor to begin, I feel that I need to concentrate on a couple of new projects. Here are the ones at the top of the list:
* working on a photo album from our first five years of marriage
* cleaning out and organizing the laundry room
* beginning to knit a sweater for Baby Girl
* writing a “book review”:/news/category/reviews/ every day at this site
* printing out the lyrics for a few favorite hymns, to use as lullabies and to help me connect with God in the harried first few weeks of parenthood
I also want to remember to be thankful that we are waiting for something *joyous*. Our past couple of years of miscarriages have been tough with all the fear there has been in waiting and wondering if the pregnancy would “take.” But this is a new kind of waiting — like waiting for a Christmas that will descend upon us without much warning. I’d love to learn to relax and enjoy the present moment, and maybe God is teaching me about that — but the future moments seem like they’ll be so much more exciting!
