Lucy speaks out

Hey everybody, Lucy here. Thought I’d take a few minutes to say hi, seeing as it is my six-week birthday. It’s been pretty busy for me, what with being born and all, but I’m glad Mamacita and Daddy-o have been rocking out on this blog. Gotta keep my peeps informed!

Things have been pretty cool around here. The birth was, well, a little squeezy, but they say that’s perfectly normal. I was kind of weirded out at first, like, what’s with the breathing? And dude, the whole digestion thing? Especially the output part. Who was the genius who invented that? I’m not kidding you, life was kind of tough at first, after 40 weeks relaxin’ in that fabulous “hot tub” in Mama’s belly. But I’m totally down with it now.

My favorite things around here are pretty much eating, sleeping, peeing, and being bounced on The Ball. Man, I love that thing! I don’t know why my parents aren’t constantly on it themselves, just for their own jollies. They don’t seem to believe how much I love that Ball, but let me tell you: *I do love it!* In fact, y’all should get one. I don’t know what else you would want to do with your money! XBox games? Please.

I totally love to eat. It’s pretty much my favorite thing to do of all time. Sometimes, especially after a nap, I wake up super-hungry and have to start hollering, “Hey, what does a baby have to do around here to get a drink?” It really makes me nuts to be hungry. Then good old Mamacita whips out the nipple, and I’m like, “Yesss! Score! Now *that’s* what I’m talking about!” Then I start packing it in. I can really put away a lot of milk, it’s impressive, if I do say so myself. (They say that one of you adults would have to drink five gallons of whole milk a day to keep up with me. Good luck!) After I’m finished with my two-course meal, Mama tries to burp me. I don’t always need to burp, but every once in a while I’ll rip a good loud one just to make Papa and Uncle Jim proud.

Peace out

I must say, the ‘rents have got a pretty awesome soundtrack here. We have been listening to a fantastic selection of quality jazz. That Daddy-o, he is one hep cat. He is also a fabulous diaper-changer. I mean that sincerely. My butt is really clean and dry and feels awesome, no redness or anything. I like to give him a smile or two while he is changing me, just to say thanks. He seems to think that’s a gasser.

I don’t know how it happened, but I am really digging my hairdo. Did I just come out this way? Mama loves it — she says it is my punk-rock hair. Right on! I’m hoping they’ll start springing for some camo baby clothes and boots, ’cuz I would be really stylin’ then. Doctor Denton’s? Doc Martens, more like. In the meantime, I’m okay with the pink stuff — it makes me enigmatic. Pink and frilly but girl-rocker hair? Who is this girl _really:_ Lucia or Lulu?

Well, gotta buzz. I’m feeling a Ball craving coming on.

Peaceout,
Lulu

  1. Okay Ann, I hate to say it, but sleep deprivation has really kicked in! Lulu’s entry takes the cake. (It’s the attack of the hallucinatory Blogging Baby!–Andy)
