Contest: Lucy’s first tooth

Just between you and me and the bedbugs, I don’t have any teeth. Seriously. I know the scientists say I actually do, that they’re under there waiting to “erupt.” (What am I, a freakin’ volcano?) At any rate, I’m pleased to announce the latest Boyds’ Nest News contest: Guess Lucy’s First Tooth Day.

It’s really quite simple: There will come a day, they assure me, when a tooth is first visible in my mouth. The Judges (commonly referred to Mama and Papa) will be the sole and authoritative arbiters to determine said date. But when do _you_ say it will be? Inquire of the Tooth Fairy — if you can get her to talk (good luck with that) — and then enter your guess as a conventional calendar date here in the comments, below.

There will be one grand prize winner and two runners-up (a first- and second-place loser, in other words, ha!). Naturally, these will be the people who guess the dates closest to (either before or after) the actual date of my toothification. The winners will receive a fabulous packet of Lucyological goodies, including an autographed glossy of their choice from among any of the hundreds of photos published here at BNN (as either a “Daily Lucy”:/news/category/the-daily-lucy/ or in the regular “image archive”:/news/image-archive/). Oh, it’s so hard to choose, ain’t it? They’re all so glorious, if I do say so myself — and I _do!_

Experts say us babies typically get our first toof around seven months, but who cares about the _average_ baby? I’m Lucy! When will _I_ be able to start biting off my own cigars, nibbling my nails, and whistling at the umpire?
