If you could peek through our windows, you might think we were going on vacation. We’ve got a couple suitcases packed. There’s a big bag of granola bars and snacks ready to go. We’re doing last-minute laundry. There is a checklist on the diningroom table of last-minute things to remember: check mail, water plants, bring camera and extra batteries. As we bustle about taking care of these familiar activites, it’s easy to feel like we’ve just got a big road trip coming up.
But of course, we don’t know quite when we’re leaving. And we’re picking up an extra traveler along the way. And in many ways it promises to be a trip that lasts the rest of our lives.
Hopefully I won’t have to barf in the barf bag on this trip. But we have one packed just in case. :)
