We always miss Papa when he is away, but Lucy and I are doing our best to make lemonade out of our lemons and have some fun. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image838\" src=\"http:\/\/boydsnest.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/img_5373.JPG\" alt=\"Mama, Baby attempt fun\" class=\"alignright\" \/><\/p>\n<p>p{color:gray}. Photo: Lucy is putting on a good scrunchy face for Papa!<\/p>\n<p>So far, we have accomplished this in several ways:<br \/>\n# giggling together<br \/>\n# going shopping<br \/>\n# taking naps<br \/>\n# eating Christmas cookies (this is Mama&#8217;s job)<br \/>\n# watching a &#8220;movie&#8221;:http:\/\/imdb.com\/title\/tt0337741\/<br \/>\n# taking a walk<\/p>\n<p>We are encountering some challenges to fun:<br \/>\n# eating real meals &#8212; it is *so* unmotivating to only be cooking for myself! (any tips?)<br \/>\n# taking over the morning shift &#8212; Papa is so good at it, but I can only stumble through sleepily<br \/>\n# taking out the garbage &#8212; need I say more?<\/p>\n<p>We have also completed some useful tasks:<br \/>\n# Mama got an eye exam, during which Lucy babbled delightfully<br \/>\n# we vacuumed up the dust bunnies under the crib<br \/>\n# Lucy had a successful night of sleeping with one arm out of her swaddle<br \/>\n# we restored order to our post-Christmas kitchen<\/p>\n<p>And we have some more plans, both fun and profitable:<br \/>\n# visiting with good friends<br \/>\n# baking something fun<br \/>\n# vacuuming the house<br \/>\n# sending some packages<br \/>\n# disposing of the soggy sticky toffee pudding we forgot to bring for our Christmas Eve dinner<\/p>\n<p>But mostly, we are just counting the days until Papa returns to our little Boyds&#8217; Nest!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Papa is currently working hard at the InterVarsity &#8220;conference&#8221;:http:\/\/www.urbana.org\/ he is at right now.
