Lucy celebrated her second Thanksgiving by refusing most traditional holiday foods &#8212; turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans &#8212; and focusing solely on raisins, popovers, and Papa&#8217;s world-famous wonder-working &#8220;Chex Mix&#8221;:\/news\/2008\/chex-mix. But Mama still enjoyed eating her favorite cranberry sauce recipe, made this year with tangerines instead of the traditional orange. Mama&#8217;s cranberries are the _best!&#8221;_<\/p>\n<p>*Cranberry Sauce with Orange and Ginger*<\/p>\n<p>1 orange  &#8212;  grate zest, squeeze juice<br \/>\n1 T grated fresh ginger<br \/>\n1&frac12; cups sugar<br \/>\n4 cups fresh cranberries<br \/>\n&frac12; cup pecan halves<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350&deg;. Spread pecan halves on cookie sheet in single layer. Toast in oven 6-10 min, until fragrant. Cool on cookie sheet.<\/p>\n<p>Place orange zest, orange juice, ginger, and sugar in 2&frac12; quart pot. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Add cranberries and cook until berries have popped, 5-10 min.
