Tomorrow is the first day of Dr. Boyd&#8217;s teaching career at North Park University. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Jon was offered an opportunity to serve as an adjunct professor this semester at &#8220;North Park University&#8221;:http:\/\/www.northpark.edu\/, teaching an upper-division course on U.S. Intellectual History. When this idea first came up in the spring, we had to think hard about it. There were a lot of pluses: we live three blocks from campus, the class size is small, and it is a great way for Jon to be active in the academic world again. But would it be feasible for Jon to work his regular InterVarsity job *and* teach this class at North Park *and* be Papa to a new baby? We decided we could do it. <\/p>\n<p>And guess how I feel? Super-proud. Jon has been working really hard to get things ready for this class and is very excited about it. Working with a &#8220;campus ministry&#8221;:http:\/\/www.intervarsity.org\/ reminds me daily of the need for professors who not only can train students to be excellent scholars, but who know the spiritual significance of teaching people to think critically. We think Papa&#8217;s got what it takes.
