<\/p>\nAlthough our current Belly Baby isn’t displaying his or her development as obviously as Lucy, there are still a few interesting things going on. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
* I’ve been feeling fetal movement for a couple of weeks now, probably starting around 16 weeks. It is so different this time around! Between not being as anxious about this pregnancy and chasing a toddler around the house, I often only feel the kicking in the evenings, once I’m sitting down and quiet.
\n* I’m developing a cute little belly bump (if I do say so myself; see photo) and am fully into maternity clothes these days. I bought a whole stash of clothes on “craigslist”:http:\/\/chicago.craigslist.org\/ and am having fun with my new-used wardrobe!
\n* I just read that, at this point in my pregnancy (18 weeks), my uterus is the size of a cantaloupe. Mmm, cantaloupe….
\n* We have a mid-term ultrasound scheduled for Saturday, November 10. Hopefully we’ll be able to discern boy or girl parts, as we had in “Lucy’s ultrasound”:http:\/\/www.annagram.org\/extras\/picture-0511.html! (And naturally you’ll hear about the results right away.) We’ll take either kind. :)
\n* Lucy has a new “baby doll”:http:\/\/www.fao.com\/catalog\/product.jsp?productId=8073&categoryId=142&parentCategoryId=93 (thanks, Grandma!) that she is enjoying thoroughly. Her current favorite activities are taking off the doll’s shoes and socks, poking her in the eye, pointing out her nose, sticking her finger in her mouth, and occasionally picking her up by her hair. I figure it’s a good sign that she thinks the doll is fun. Maybe when we get closer to March, I’ll whip up a little baby doll “sling”:\/news\/2006\/babywearing\/ for her to use!
\n* The baby’s heart rate seems to be sticking right around “150 bpm”:\/news\/2007\/150-bpm\/, according to my last midwife visit.
\n* We have officially engaged our fabulous friend Dora to be “our doula again”:\/news\/2007\/the-labor-story\/ this time around.<\/p>\n
