Jon and I just finished watching the final episode of The West Wing. We’ve been watching this TV show (on DVD) about life at the White House for over a year (cramming seven years’ broadcasts into one), so we’ve been thinking about it a lot. July 10 was my Grandma Martha Borzykowski’s birthday. She would have been 95 today, but she passed away last August. Our little Lucy got her middle name from her, and we hope she has inherited lots more, too. more »

We had a friend over the other day who’s not quite five years old. He was interested in a couple of simple clay objects out on our livingroom table (a large ring and a chunky heart). He asked who made them, and when we said that we had, he asked in amazement — “You still have clay?”
We hope he’ll always remember that, yes, even grown-ups can goof around with the arts. :)
