Vocabulary update: October 12
As previously reported, Lucy’s vocabulary is exploding. And now we can confirm: she is definitely an urban hipster.
That status is cemented by four key phrases: “Go Cubs,” “pita,” “booty,” and “Brie” (see second video). We hope she’ll keep saying “thank you” (see first video) with such excellent manners.
Note: If you can’t see the videos, you may simply need to update your free QuickTime plugin.
Here are the latest additions to her word hoard, as best we can tell:
Spoken words
blinds
book
booty (as in “Pirate’s Booty,” from Trader Joe’s)
bread
Brie (see video)
brush
button
cheese
curtain
donut (“nonut”)
dressed
go
Go Cubs (every time she sees a Cubs logo, seriously)
night-night
ouch
pie
pita
see ya
toe
yum (“num”)
Animal sounds
hoo hoo [owl]
ribbit [frog]
roar [bear]
[pigs’ grunt, no simple “oink”]
Sign language
bear
chicken
eat
walk
water

Her laugh is fantastic! Such a sinister wind up. :) Congrats on Lucy and on the new one on the way!
