    My dear Lucia,
    We missed seeing you this past weekend, but we certainly had fun playing with cousin Violet. When we observe how she has changed, and knowing how fast you are growing, we are in awe of what lies ahead for you (and for us, of course). Your thoughtful gaze in this photo tells me that you are thinking some deep thoughts and I am certainly eager to hear them. I know your parents feel the same way so there are wonderful days and months and years ahead of all of us as we observe your growth (Violet’s, too). Each day now is precious and we look forward to the future as it unfolds. You and Violet hold wonderful keys to our future and we cannot wait to share that with you. I send you my love…
