My dear Lucia,
How I love to look at your pretty face and those wonderful blue eyes! You give your Grandpa great joy as I watch you grow. Yesterday, Grandma and I drove out to Morrison to check on the growth of the trees and we were pleased to see LOTS of progress, really for the first time. Best of all, I know that you will be able to see the trees mature during your lifetime and that is what this is all about. Trees yesterday and your shining face this morning; it does not get any better than that.
And in just two days, we will fly to DC to celebrate your Uncle Jim’s 42nd and counsin Violet’s #2 so that is one more big event on the way. I promise that we will tell Violet all about you because we KNOW she will be asking about you.
I send you my love today and always.
